Sammons Financial Group Appoints Sergi Turabelidze as Chief Investment Officer

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa, March 11, 2026 (FINANCE INTERVIEWS) — Financial services company Sammons Financial Group has announced the appointment of Sergi Turabelidze as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer.

Reporting to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Esfand Dinshaw, Turabelidze will oversee all aspects of the company’s $135 billion investment portfolio, including investment strategy, asset allocation, and performance management. He will also serve as a member of Sammons Financial Group’s Senior Staff, the company’s executive leadership team.

Turabelidze joins Sammons Financial Group from Sixth Street Partners, where he served as Managing Director and a senior leader of the Insurance team. Previously, he was Chief Investment Officer and a member of the founding executive leadership team at Soteria Re, a Bermuda-based reinsurance company sponsored by Fidelity Investments. He also served as Head of Investment Strategy at RGA, where he was responsible for asset-liability management, asset allocation, and investment capabilities development. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Goldman Sachs and NISA Investment Advisors.

Turabelidze holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.
